We are The Childs Family
Heritage Creek Labs is a small, family-based Labrador Retriever breeder located in central Indiana, 1 hour west of Indianapolis. We’re thankful you discovered us! Our family is deeply committed to raising healthy, beautiful, and well-tempered puppies who will become cherished companions for their future forever families. With nearly 20 years of experience with raising Labradors, we have witnessed firsthand the incredible love, loyalty, and joy this breed of dogs bring into a home.
Each of our 4 female Labs are truly part of our family, living alongside us in our home as beloved companions to our three children. Willow, Sage, Violet and Maple are the heart behind our breeding program. Together, they will produce black, yellow, and chocolate colored pure-bred puppies with that classic Labrador temperament we adore.
Our greatest joy is simply living life along side our 3 kids and 4 dogs. Whether we are homeschooling, hiking through the woods surrounding our property, waterfowl hunting, boating on the lake, cuddling on the couch or camping as a family, our pups are always by our side. Labradors are known for their loyalty, gentle nature, and steady temperament — qualities that make them exceptional family dogs. It is a true blessing to share so many years with such devoted and trustworthy companions.
At Heritage Creek Labs, our philosophy is quality over quantity. We intentionally produce only 1 litter from a Mama Lab per year — with a maximum of 6-7 total in her lifetime. This thoughtful approach allows us to prioritize the health and well-being of both our Mothers and their puppies. We are dedicated to raising exceptional purebred Labrador Retrievers that are AKC registered and bred according to ethical and responsible practices.

Our clients adore the fact that their future puppies are constantly being professionally photographed/filmed during their 8 weeks of life. A major perk of having us as their breeder!

We are located 1 hour west of downtown Indianapolis, in central Indiana.
Our “Heritage Creek” name was chosen because of the creek that runs through our wooded property and feeds into a large lake. Willow, Sage, Violet and Maple’s favorite daily event is hiking through the woods to swim in the creek. It’s where our kids joyfully play during their homeschool afternoons and where many happy memories are made as a family.
We also want to raise a heritage breed of labs that produces an amazing bloodline of beloved labradors. Our dogs are always happy, friendly, obedient and truly a delight!

Why Labs are the best Dog
Our names are Brock and Stefanie Childs. We are a family of 5, which includes our charming son Rhett who is 13 years old and our beautiful 11 year old fraternal twin girls, named Hazel and Emmaline. We were born and raised in the central Indiana area, and will continue to raise our family here.
We’ve raised several Labs over our 20 years of marriage. They are simply the BEST companions! Although we are newer in the breeding business since 2022, it has been such an amazing adventure for our family and we can’t wait to see what the future holds!
Why are Labradors BEST dogs out there? Because they simply ARE! Ha! We are hobby breeders birthed out of the enthrallment of this sweet breed. From the stunning broad head, barrel chest, stocky body, and otter tail, to the unrivaled calm temperament, we couldn’t help but fall in love. Labs are trustworthy with any age group, they’re unconditionally loyal their owner, big babies who enjoy cuddling, and they simply want to be included in whatever their owners are doing around the home.
Our blend of English and American Labradors have endless endearing characteristics. The Labrador Retriever has been the no. 1 selling breed for the last 30 years according to the AKC.
Because our Mama dogs and their pups live in our home, they are smothered in as much love as possible. We also homeschool our kids and work from home most days, so our adult dogs have full reign of our house, and are involved in every aspect of our daily routine. This has created such a loving and intentional process for our entire family. Raising our puppies is a part of our “School” day with our kids.
Our Process:
Breeding & Adoption
We breed with integrity to ensure that all of our Labs fall within the highest standards of the American Kennel Club “AKC”. Photos of our 4 female Labs can be seen in our “Labs + Litters” tab. We are currently breeding with our dear friend’s pure-bred Yellow Lab “Dexter” and another Breeder friend’s handsome Yellow Lab “Maverick”. Knowing that these parents are the best of the best when it comes to temperament, appearance and health, ensures amazing pups for future families.
We have access to the full blood line through our AKC registry, which ensures health through previous generations. Our breeding focus of quality over quantity is of upmost importance to us!
Puppies are available for a “Reservation Deposit” as early as 1 week old. Our puppies are an investment of $1,600. We require a 50% NON-refundable deposit and signed digital contract to hold. The remaining balance would be due upon pickup around the 8 week mark.
Our new puppy package includes exceptional care for the first 8 weeks of life while at our home, a “Limited” AKC registration certificate with pedigree info, a well puppy visit with our veterinarian around 7 weeks and holistic recommendations from our 20 years of experience.
We have an application process to ensure our pups are going to the most loving forever home possible.
